Rule 14 Motions

All motions shall be accompanied by a brief in support thereof. The brief shall contain a statement of the grounds for the same and a statement of the authority relied upon.

All motions shall be set for hearing by the Assignment Commissioner. File stamped copies of all motions shall be provided to the Assignment Commissioner and left at her office or at her box at the Clerk's office. Hearings that do not require the presentation of evidence shall be non-oral, unless the Court on application permits oral argument.

Opposing counsel may file an answer to the motion on or before the seventh day following the filing date of the motion and the moving party may file a reply on or before the seventh day following the filing of the answer. No further filings may be made without the consent of the Court. Time periods may be extended or contracted by order of the Court for good cause shown. Failure to timely file in opposition may constitute sufficient cause for the Court to grant the relief sought.
