Rule 24 Domestic Relations Investigations & In Chambers Interview with Minor Children An investigation shall be made in all actions for divorce, legal separation, and annulment or motion for change of residential parent and legal custodian where one or more children under the age of fourteen years is involved. On Motion, the Court shall interview minor children of the parties in chambers. Children of the parties shall not be called upon to testify in the Courtroom and may be excluded from the Court during testimony of others. The Motion to interview the child in chambers shall be made at least fourteen days before the hearing to which the interview pertains and the children will be interviewed by the Court at least a week prior to any hearing to which the interview is to be considered by the Court. Bringing children to Court for hearings is STRONGLY DISCOURAGED. Washington County Clerk of Courts
