The Juvenile Court Victim Assistance Coordinator advocates for victims of juvenile crime, helping them through the court process.
The services provided by the Juvenile Court Victim Assistance Program include:
- Keeping the victim notified of the progress of the case.
- Providing emotional support during court hearings.
- Assisting with preparation of Victim Impact Statements detailing losses, injury, and victim's opinions for use by the Judge in sentencing.
- Assisting with filing for Victims of Crime Compensation from the State.
- Assisting in collecting restitution for losses and out of pocket expenses.
- Coordinating with other agencies to obtain assistance for the victim.
