PLANNING COMMISSION The Washington County Planning Commission is made up of 11 members, who serve on a volunteer basis, and are paid for mileage only. Those 11 members consist of the three (3) County Commissioners, seven (7) members of the county who are appointed by the County Commissioners to serve 4-year terms, and the County Engineer, a non-voting member who serves in an advisory capacity. The Planning Commission meets once a month at 7:00 PM on the third Monday, except in January and February when the meetings are held on the fourth Monday. The Planning Commission is responsible for the approval of all subdivisions in Washington County, and any right-of-ways of access across private property.
