Larry Steinel ![]() Larry Steinel was born and raised on a farm south of Akron, Ohio, which is now the City of Green. He attended Akron Electronics Institute, Marietta College, Career Center and Washington State. He has owned and operated a travel agency for over 30 years, and was in radio for over 24 years. He is VP of the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport Authority, a 46 year member of the Marietta Noon Lion's Club, and Washington County Chairman of Family and Children First Council. He is Past President of the Marietta Chamber of Commerce, Tourist & Convention Bureau, Noon Lions, Board of Realtors, NCAA Division III Baseball World Series, MHS Band Boosters, St. Mary's Parish Council, Easter Seal Society, and Mid-Ohio Valley American Marketing Association. He has been named Marietta's Outstanding Citizen of the Year, and received the Ohio Easter Seal's "Volunteer of the Year" award, Marietta College "M" Team Distinguished Service Award, and Marietta Noon Lion's Club "Lion of the Year" Award. He was elected Washington County Commissioner in 1996, and was in office from 1/3/97 - 12/31/2000, at which time he chose not to pursue a second term due to personal business reasons. He ran again and was elected in 2003, and is currently in his second term. He is married to Janet, and has 6 children, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
