Washington County Health Department FAQ'S Is there a minimum amount of land necessary to install a septic tank? There is no minimum amount of land required for a septic system. However, there is no guarantee a system will go on any piece of land. Before you begin to build a foundation, you need to apply for a septic system permit. Include a plat map with the application and a $150.00 permit fee. My neighbor’s septic tank stinks, and there is garbage everywhere. What can you do? Wash the bite thoroughly with soap and water. Contact your physician or the emergency room for advice. If the bite is severe, you may want to go directly to a doctor's office or an emergency room. Contact the Health Department as soon as possible so arrangements can be made to keep the animal in quarantine or to have the animal tested for rabies. I am selling my house. Do you require a septic system inspection? The Health Department does not require that your system be inspected. However, the buyer or the lending agency can require an inspection.
