Locating Parents
LOCATION
The whereabouts of the non-custodial parent must be known to establish paternity, or to establish and enforce a child and medical support order.

Washington County CSEA utilizes many resources for locating the non-custodial parent. The Support Enforcement Tracking System (SETS), is utilized to automatically initiate location efforts when the non-custodial parents employment or address is invalid and a valid Social Security number and date of birth is on file. The system interfaces with state and federal agencies such as: New Hire, Unemployment, Social Security, Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs, IRS, Bureau of Workers Compensation, Department of Motor vehicles, to receive and process locate information.

Locating the non-custodial parent can be a lengthy process if the non-custodial parent is not employed. Our office also relies on the custodial parents, who typically has information that is helpful for locating non-custodial parents. Custodial parents should keep the CSEA informed of any information that would help locate the non-custodial parent.

Support Is Key
Mission Statement
Children are first on our agenda. To ensure a brighter future for our children, we encourage both parents to be accountable so children receive the support they deserve. This is accomplished through agency teamwork, outside partnerships, and under the laws of the State of Ohio.
