Responsibilities:

We handle dog situations only, with the exception of coyote damage to livestock. We also pick up stray dogs, answer complaints on dogs at large, and handle animal claims on dog damage to livestock. It is our responsibility to enforce sections 955.01 to 955.50 of the Ohio Revised Code pertaining to dogs.

The difference in duties between the Dog Warden and the Humane Society pertaining to dogs is as follows: Humane Society responds to situations involving neglected, abused, mistreated and injured dog situations. The Dog Warden responds to situations as listed in above paragraph.
