EMT/LEPC

The Washington County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is a County Board established under the Ohio Revised Code.

The LEPC has the following responsibilities.

  • Develop a Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Plan.
  • Develop and maintain an active enforcement program of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know (EPCRA) act under SARA Title III.
  • Annually exercise the Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Plan.
  • Provide and fund training for emergency responders in dealing with Hazardous Materials.
  • Provide and fund training for businesses in EPCRA requirements.
