CHILDREN SERVICES Child Lures Prevention Program The research-based Child Lures School Program teaches students life skills to keep them safe from sexual abuse, abduction, Internet crime, drugs and school violence. The Child Lures program is offered to students through classroom presentations in elementary and middle schools throughout Washington County. The Program consists of a straightforward training video and practice scenarios, follow-up activities, comprehension assessment, and tools for parental involvement. A student video with four realistic dramatizations allows students to clearly visualize just how easily they may be lured into dangerous situations. A Child Lures Parent Guide is sent home with each student so Moms, Dads, and other caregivers can reinforce prevention strategies at home. Acclaimed for its innovative and comprehensive approach to prevention, the Child Lures School Program is used in over 1000 school systems nationwide. Its non-threatening style is widely embraced by educators, psychologists, parents, and students alike. It is endorsed by the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
