The School Outreach Prevention Program (SOPP) is a collaboration between Washington County Children Services Board and area school districts. It is a year round program which provides flexible services and positive experiences for children and families to promote children's school success. Currently, SOPP has Prevention Specialists, Intervention Specialists, and a Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coordinator serving children in all of the county's 6 school districts.

SOPP benefits children who are experiencing:

  • academic difficulties
  • social difficulties
  • behavioral difficulties
  • multiple school absences

SOPP benefits families who are experiencing:

  • stress
  • concerns about their children's schools
  • lack of involvement with their children's educational activities
