Tax Map Office
The Washington County Tax Map Office is your first stop for real estate descriptions and land title research. Our office is located conveniently near the County Auditor's and Recorder's Offices, on the second floor of the Washington County Courthouse, on Putnam and Second streets, in downtown Marietta, Ohio. The knowledgeable and helpful staff is here to serve you.
The Tax Map Office is administered by the County Auditor with technical oversight by the County Engineer. The Tax Map Office staff work closely with the County Auditor's and Recorder's Office staff in an effort to maintain up-to-date and accurate legal deed, land ownership, and real estate descriptions.
GIS & Plat Maps
The county's Geographic Information System (GIS) and hard copy plat maps that the Tax Map Office Maintains are representative drawings showing the approximate locations of the lots and boundaries and are for tax purposes only. These are not official records or survey plats. Some true survey plats are also maintained at the Tax Map Office.
These Plat maps are utilized by the general public, attorneys, historians, and land and title examiners. A nominal fee is generally charged for materials to make copies of any particular plat map.
On-Line access to County Map information is available through two Geographic Information Services (GIS) and through a download of the ESRI Compliant data files. Below are the links for each service.
