Online Payments

Credit/Debit Cards

Credit and debit cards are charged a 2.4% convenience fee with a $2.00 minimum charge. Credit/debit card limit is $250,000.00 with no minimum.  No more than 100 parcels at one time. If an email address is provided you will receive a receipt.

E-checks

Electronic checks will be charged a flat fee of $1.00. Electronic check (echeck) limit is $50,000.00 with no minimum and no more than 100 parcels at one time.

Phone Payments

Phone payments can now be made by calling 1-844-598-1300. Credit and debit cards are charged a 2.4% convenience fee with a $2.00 minimum charge and electronic checks are charged a $1.00 flat fee.  No more than 1 parcel may be paid per phone call.  Credit and debit card limit is $250,000.00 with no minimum.  Electronic check limit is $50,000.00 with no minimum.

Drop Box

A drop box is available on 2nd Street at the old Chase Bank entrance behind the courthouse. Checks and Money Orders ONLY. You must provide your payment stub with payment in the envelope provided in your bill.

Enter the old Chase bank parking lot from Second street, but where the parking aisle ends, turn left and the dropbox is mounted in the gravel patch.

Paying Taxes In Person

You need to have the original tax bill(s) you received in the mail when paying in person at the Treasurer's Office (on the 2nd floor if you enter the building from the Second Street entrance). If you do not bring your bills with you, you will be charged a $1.00 reprint fee for each parcel.

Our normal office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. If paying in person, you must do so by the due date listed on your tax bill to avoid a penalty.

There is a $2.00 flat flee to pay taxes with debit card transactions and 2.75% of the total amount due to pay with a credit card. Taxes may be paid over the phone with credit card transaction only.

Paying Taxes By Mail

Please mail and tear off the small portion of your tax bill along with your check or money order. Make the check or money order payable to "Washington County Treasurer". Your envelope must be postmarked by the due date listed on your tax bill to avoid paying a penalty.

If you would like a paid receipt please enclose the entire bill along with a stamped, self addressed envelope and mail this information in the envelope provided in your tax bill. If you did not receive a printed envelope with your tax bill please mail to the following:

Non-Sufficient Funds Check

If check is presented for non payment the taxes will be restored to the duplicate and late charges will apply if necessary.

Delinquent Real Estate & Mobile Home Tax Payment Plans

If you are paying delinquent taxes, you should call (740) 373-6623 option 3 option 2 or come to the Treasurer's Office located in the Washington County Courthouse.
